It's a new, groundbreaking, interchangeable lens: LUMIX GX VARIO PZ 14-42mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH./POWER OIS with electric zoom from the new first-class lens mark "X" for the LUMIX G Micro System that matches Micro Four Thirds System Standard. The new first-class objective mark "X" realizes Panasonic optical technologies and boasts stunning image rendering with vibrant structures, sharp edge-to-edge contrasts, a unique nano-surface treatment to minimize echo images and glare and natural surroundings with incredible transparency.

The lens system has 9 lenses in 8 groups and has excellent contrast throughout the zoom range. With 4 toric lenses that help reduce the lens, optical performance is also improved by minimizing twist images even at the 28mm wide end. The 2 ED lenses effectively compensate for the chromatic abberation. And the zoom lens that can be pulled in is incredibly compact with a length of about 26.8 mm and a weight of about 95 g for extra high mobility.

Panasonic's nano-surface technology is used to minimize the playback of the entire visual light (380 nm-780 nm) using the extra low breaking index surface with a nanostream structure on the lens. The result is a super bright picture with a dramatic reduction of echo images and glare.

Using an internal focus system powered by a stepper motor, the first-class optical design delivers an incredible smoothness that supports the high-speed AF system on the LUMIX G cameras. It achieves approximately 0.1 second light velocity AF, due to the fact that the lens is smaller and the movement is also smaller. By controlling the aperture is faster, the shutter speed is also shortened by about 40%, compared to LUMIX G VARIO 14-42 mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA OIS.
