Yamaha Signal Processor
Powerful DSP for Yamaha’s RIVAGE PM System
Widely recognized for their stellar sound and flexible control, Yamaha’s RIVAGE PM digital mixing systems embody the first-class sound, operability, and reliability that pro-level engineers demand. The DSP-RX is at the heart of the RIVAGE PM series, providing you with ultra-powerful signal processing and superior system control. This high-performance DSP engine accommodates up to 120 inputs, with 48 mix channels, 24 matrix channels, and two stereo channels. You’ll appreciate the DSP-RX’s built-in plug-ins, which include spot-on hardware emulations from Rupert Neve Designs along with Eventide harmonizer and reverb effects. This DSP engine was designed with expansion in mind, boasting four HY slots and two Mini-YGDAI slots. You also get DSP mirroring and dual redundant power supplies for rock-solid reliability. The DSP-RX is a component of Yamaha’s RIVAGE PM system, which also includes a control surface and an I/O rack.
Built-in effects processing delivers world-class sound
The Yamaha DSP-RX is chock-full of great-sounding effects - over 50 to be exact. Each of its input channels boasts a 4-band, fully parametric EQ, while its output channels are equipped with 8-band, fully parametric EQs. There are four EQ types on tap: Precise for surgical adjustments, Aggressive for adding vibe-infused character, Smooth for natural-sounding results, and Legacy for replicating the sound of classic Yamaha digital consoles. You also get two dynamics stages, each with gating, compression, ducking, and de-essing options. Two compressor varieties are included: Legacy Comp for classic Yamaha dynamics control and Comp260, which models the legendary sound of a 1970s-era VCA-based hardware unit. Beyond that, Yamaha collaborated with Rupert Neve Designs to develop flawless re-creations of their world-renowned EQs and compressors, with Eventide to craft impeccable models of their harmonizer and reverb effects, and with Dan Dugan Sound Design to implement their popular automatic microphone mixing processing.
DSP mirroring and redundant power supplies ensure maximum reliability
One of the things we appreciate most about Yamaha’s RIVAGE PM digital mixing systems is their reliability. This rock-solid dependability is baked right into the DSP-RX. If an issue occurs with your main DSP engine, you can use the DSP-RX’s DSP mirroring capabilities for fail-safe redundancy, enabling you to use a second DSP engine to take over. Best of all, the process is seamless. Your audience won’t even know there was a problem. At Sweetwater, we also appreciate this DSP engine’s redundant power supplies. With the DSP-RX, the show will go on!
Yamaha’s RIVAGE PM series - no-compromise digital mixing
The Yamaha DSP-RX DSP engine is part of the company’s acclaimed RIVAGE PM digital mixing system. This ultra-flexible ecosystem includes control surfaces, DSP engines, I/O racks, and audio interface cards. The control surfaces are the core of the system, providing you with great-feeling faders, intuitive touch-panel displays, and Yamaha’s celebrated Selected Channel section. All five control surfaces in the series boast similar functionality. If you’re familiar with one, you’ll have no trouble switching to another. The DSP engines are the “brain” of your RIVAGE PM system. They provide signal processing from top-tier creators such as Rupert Neve Designs and Eventide, along with system control. Beyond that, they’re capable of transmitting and receiving up to 256 inputs/outputs of digital audio. The I/O racks house your system’s physical connections. And they perform admirably, boasting Yamaha’s transparent, natural-sounding Hybrid Microphone Preamplifiers with high-performance analog input stages, plus advanced digital sections with spot-on emulations of Rupert Neve Designs transformers and SILK processing circuitry. Finally, audio interface cards supply your analog and digital I/O and add TWINLANe, Dante, and MADI capabilities to your digital mixing system.
