The compact (105 x 45 x 95 mm) digital-to-analogue converter has the same basic functionality as the ABX-1, but also contains its own high performance Fohhn DSP. This enables the inclusion of active loudspeakers without integrated Fohhn DSPs in the AIREA system. When the ABX-3 is connected in the signal path before a group of these speakers, it acts as their Master, providing additional signal processing functions such as EQ and Delay. It also facilities more effective remote control when using Fohhn Audio Soft. Equipped with its own AIREA-Net outputs, the ABX-3 additionally offers a means of signal routing that has the following advantages: Signals can now also be split and routed. This, in turn, further simplifies the cabling requirement.
High-quality, 2-channel Digital to Analogue Converter in a lightweight, compact housing. Developed for dedicated use in a digital audio network system that includes active loudspeakers with integrated digital amplifiers and DSP technology, Master modules and other system components. The ABX-3 is equipped with its own digital signal processor (DSP) to provide additional signal processing functions. This enables active loudspeakers without integrated DSP technology to be connected into the digital audio network system.
Connections: The unit has an input (RJ-45 in / Neutrik etherCON) for digital AES/EBU audio signals and power supply, as well as two corresponding outputs (RJ-45 out / Neutrik etherCON) – making split routing of all signals possible. It also has an output (RJ-45 / Neutrik etherCON) for carrying digital control signals, plus two separate analogue outputs (XLR balanced).
