mLogic mTape Thunderbolt LTO-8 External Tape Drive
With the mTape Thunderbolt 2 LTO-8 External Tape Drive from mLogic, you can easily archive massive amounts of data from a Thunderbolt 2 capable Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. The tape drive features two Thunderbolt 2 ports, and each port has a maximum data transfer rate of 300 MB/s. Once connected, files can be dragged and dropped directly to the tape drive, as it is capable of reading and writing to LTO-8 tape cartridges that offer up to 12TB of storage. It also supports LTO-7 tape cartridges, and one LTO-7 cartridge is included. Additionally, tape drives can be formatted, mounted, and ejected using the intuitive mTape Utility included with the External Tape Drive.
LTO Tape Technology
LTO tape offers a shelf-life of 30+ years and a reliability level that exceeds what is achievable with spinning disk and solid-state drive technology. mTape safeguards important digital media for the long term and is more cost effective than a HDD or SSD.
Drag and Drop
mTape supports the Linear Tape File System (LTFS), which lets you mount the mTape similar to a hard disk to provide drag-and-drop functionality.
