This software bundle provides a widespread and professional protection of any data. It contains solutions to backup server data to disk or tape and archiving of data as long-term storage solution. All applications of the P5 Archive Edition are compatible with Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and FreeBSD and allow a cross-platform data management.
Software bundle consisting of:
- P5 Backup (license for 1 server with 2 drives) - P5 Archive (license for 1 server with 2 drives) - Server Agent (4 additional server licenses) - Media Management + Storage (1 license for 25 slots/50 TB disk space)
Properties P5 Backup:
- Backup server data to disk or tape drives like e.g. LTO-5 - Backup and restore work cross-platform on Mac OS X, Linux, Windows and FreeBSD (data is saved in a platform neutral format) - Block-direct positioning allows a very fast restore of the data - Snapshots offer restores from a particular point in time - Application is browser-based and allows easy configuration, administration and monitoring independently of location - Administrator can allow usersto search, browse and/or restore from the backup - Additionally to the data, extended attributes, permissions, resource forks etc. are saved - Support of multiple drives, tasks and clients simultaneously - Backups are interruptible and will be filled in automatically with the next run (partial backups are restorable) - Modular design makes the software scalable - Further products by Archiware (hard- and software) can be added and fitted to hardware and data needs
Properties P5 Archive:
- Archiving software for long-term storage of data to disk or tape drives like e.g. LTO-5 - Archiving and restoring work cross-platform on Mac OS X, Linux, Windows and FreeBSD (data is saved in a platform neutral format) - Application is browser-based and allows easy configuration, administration and monitoring independently of location - Migration of data to cost-efficient tape media - Expensive server storage can be reclaimed while backup times are reduced, which relieves the network of traffic - Files, folders and the directory structure can be monitored to automate data archiving - Filtering can be applied to select or exclude specific files - Data can be cloned to a second set of tapes for offsite storage - Optional encryption takes place on the media itself - Software can function as a bare bones asset management system e.g. for building up a video and image archive - Extendable metadata fields and Quicktime previews offeran efficient search and restoration - Third party applications can be tethered to the scriptable Command Line Interface (CLI) (e.g. Final Cut Server, Canto Cumulus, CatDV, CANTEMO Portal, Xinet, Helios) - Archived datacan be exported in LTFS-format (Linear Tape File System) for transport (writeable and readable with free-of-charge drivers from the drive manufacturers as well as Archiwares free-of-charge MediaLTFS for Mac OS X) - Incremental archiving causes minimised growth of the amount of data, because only new or modified files are considered - Further products by Archiware (hard- and software) can be added and fitted to hardware and data needs
