Next-generation imaging
Take world-class images with the world's first 2/3 ”HD CMOS sensor with global shutter technology that eliminates the“ jello effect ”and banding noise. This enables the HDC-3170 to take razor-sharp images with low noise and excellent sensitivity (F12 at 1080 / 59.94i or F13 at 1080 / 50i).
More flexibility in format
The HDC-3170 can output 3G-SDI signals in various formats up to 1080 / 50p. So you benefit from the highest production comfort - and your viewers enjoy first-class picture quality.
Next generation digital triax transmission
The HDC-3170 supports the latest third generation digital triax based camera / camera base station transmission system. This can transmit high-quality Full HD images over distances of up to 1800 m * and can be seamlessly integrated into existing Triax infrastructures.
With 14.5 mm diameter triax cable. The maximum transmission distance depends on the configuration of the camera system.

The camera on the go
The housing of the HDC-3170 made of magnesium alloy offers exceptional lightness and strength. The camera's low center of gravity, the easily adjustable shoulder pad and the enlarged grip area ensure safe and stable handling. The studio cameras of the HDC series are also ideal for manual operation and offer exceptional user ergonomics in a variety of studio environments and for outdoor use.
Seamless integration Backward
compatibility with Sony's HDC-2000 series industry-recognized system cameras simplifies seamless integration with your current live production infrastructure, including cameras and camera base stations.
Extensive focus assist functions
The user can use the view finder detail function, through which colored detail edges are displayed directly in the viewfinder, which help them to focus quickly and precisely in any shooting situation. This function is supplemented by the Focus Assist Indicator and an expanded focus position measuring function.
Servo-controlled ND filter
An optical neutral density (ND) filter wheel opens up further creative possibilities. The filter can be controlled via a remote control panel, a master setup unit or directly from the camera head.
